Abstract

The history classroom plays a political use of form "citizens", "patriots" and "Argentine". Conceiving the value that textbooks has, not only "historiographical products" but also "memory spaces", the aim of this paper is to analyze how it has been presented “La Conquista del Desierto” by argentian history textbooks for 3rd grade of high schools between 1956 and 1980. This period was relevant for the national educational history because of the massive enrollment at that level (De Luca, 2008), also the implementation of a generation of textbooks remembered for their long use (Romero, 2007; Tosi, 2012)
