Maternities in question: idyllic models and mothers’ practices in Argentina 1892- 1936

Abstract
This article presents a walk through all of the different historiographic studies about women and gender that have treated the mother and child issues in Argentina. At the same time. it analizes all of the different perspectives from where it has been aborded, rescuing the tensions between idyllic models of the mother, that the government tryed to deploy, and the woman practices that went beyond the law and, at the same time, questioned those models. Lastly, there is a balance regarding the common problems, trying to introduce some items to be considered for its approach
